Till USA 1926-03-23Anna Peterson, a longtime resident of Enumclaw, died peacefully June 6, 2008 at the age of 98. She was born in Resele, Sweden on May 25, 1910 to Britta and Anders Nordlander. She was the youngest of six children.After finishing school in 1924, she went to live in Stockholm with sister, Alma and tailored fur coats. In 1929, Anna and her mom traveled from Sweden to join families in Washington State where she worked as a housekeeper in the Seattle homes. Anna met Carl in 1936 at the Swedish Club Dance. They married and gave birth to their only child, Viola. Along with being a homemaker, she was known for her love in fashion, making and designing her own dresses. Anna enjoyed her cats, flower garden, music and exercise. Anna will be remembered for her gentleness and love. She is survived by her only grandchild Karl Erik Hammer of Austin, Texas; son-in-law Gene Hammer of Enumclaw; niece Diane Ballard of Snoqualmie; nephew Glenn Brask and wife Carol of Mukilteo; niece Ruth Nelson and husband Albin of Olympia. on November 15, 2005 after having complications related to an extended illness, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. A loving wife, mom, daughter, and advocate will greatly be missed. Lisa was born on December 20, 1936 in Seattle, Washington, an only child of Swedish descendant, Carl and Anna Peterson. Lisa graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1955 and the University of Washington in 1959. She married Gene D. Hammer on July 25, 1959. Lisa taught third grade at Kibler School in Enumclaw, Washington for seven years before having her only child, Karl Erik. She was a member of the University of Washington Alumni Association and the Swedish Cultural Center of Seattle. Lisa was very proud of her Swedish Heritage. During her leisure times, she enjoyed her beautiful flower garden, spent time with families and friends, provided tender loving care to her cats, and traveling the world. Her travel included visiting families in Sweden, Europe by rail, China with her husband on business trips, and Caribbean Cruises with Erik. Visiting the Forbidden city and walking on the Great Wall of China were some of the great adventures for her. "Find A Grave"
