on November 15, 2005 after having complications related to an extended illness, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. A loving wife, mom, daughter, and advocate will greatly be missed. Lisa was born on December 20, 1936 in Seattle, Washington, an only child of Swedish descendant, Carl and Anna Peterson. Lisa graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1955 and the University of Washington in 1959. She married Gene D. Hammer on July 25, 1959. Lisa taught third grade at Kibler School in Enumclaw, Washington for seven years before having her only child, Karl Erik. She was a member of the University of Washington Alumni Association and the Swedish Cultural Center of Seattle. Lisa was very proud of her Swedish Heritage. During her leisure times, she enjoyed her beautiful flower garden, spent time with families and friends, provided tender loving care to her cats, and traveling the world. Her travel included visiting families in Sweden, Europe by rail, China with her husband on business trips, and Caribbean Cruises with Erik. Visiting the Forbidden city and walking on the Great Wall of China were some of the great adventures for her. "Find A Grave"
