Herbert 'Herb' E. Hermanson, 84, of Duluth, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born Sept. 9, 1922 in Duluth to Iver and Linnea (Pearson) Hermanson. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. He worked in the Civil Service at the Duluth Air Force Base and retired in 1982. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 505 and the VFW Post 137. Herb was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Norm and Ray; and sister, Elsie. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Gayle (George) Franckowiak of Duluth, Claire (Kirby) Stortz of Blaine, Minn., Jill Noboise of Apple Valley, Minn.; step-son, Wayne (Lynn) of Duluth; step-daughters, Joyce (Ken) Jorgensen of Sunnyvale, Calif., Meredith Kreidler of Payette, Idaho; brothers, Roy of Duluth, Floyd (Margaret) of Omaha, Neb., Harvey of Duluth; sister, Martha Zajicek of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Lorie (Jonathan) Beyer, Ed (Krista) Franckowiak, Kimberly Franckowiak, Jennifer Noboise; and two great-grandchildren, Adam and Abigail. MEMORIAL SERVICE:11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006 in Dougherty Funeral Home. Inurnment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Martha Linnea (Hermanson) Zajicek, age 92, of Boscobel went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2016.She was born in Duluth, MN on August 5, 1924 to Iver and Beda Linnea (Pearson) Hermanson. She was united in marriage to Joseph George Zajicek Jr. of Boscobel on November 28, 1947.She was a charter member of Maple Ridge Bible Church in Boscobel.She is survived by 6 daughters and 1 son, Kathy (Marvin) Royse, Brian (Gwen) Zajicek, Janet (Ed) Clark, Jerrine (Dan) Ringenberg, Gayle (Tom) Thompson, Sharon Joceil (Marty) Degenhardt and Cheryl Marcia (Paul) Nankey; also 17 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 6 brothers and a sister.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Maple Ridge Bible Church, rural Boscobel, with Pastor Noel Mayes officiating. Burial will take place in the Boscobel Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to service time at the church. The Beeman-Patchak Funeral Home of Boscobel is assisting the family.
